Village of Estero Broadway Ave West Drainage Improvement
Land Development, Stormwater
JR Evans Engineering prepared a specific drainage improvement plan for a known area of concern with respect to flooding located at Broadway Ave. West and the Trailside community. The existing main conveyance of flood waters within the Trailside community had become compromised and the culvert under Broadway Ave. was failing. The project team prepared a watershed analysis to establish existing conditions and evaluate improvements to the existing drainage infrastructure. Based on the study results, an improvement plan was prepared involving replacing an existing drainage culvert under Broadway Ave. West and modifying the connecting structures. Detailed construction plans were prepared and permitting was conducted with the Village of Estero and Lee County Utilities. JR Evans Engineering also provided construction coordination assistance. In addition to design services and permitting services, JR Evans Engineering also coordinated with the Village of Estero and FEMA representative to secure grant funding for the mitigation project. The project team worked closely with FEMA to prepare a detailed cost estimate for the project in compliance with FEMA’s requirements and itemized list.
