Winding Cypress ERP

Description: J.R. Evans was tasked with civil engineering, planning, surveying and hydrogeological services for the design and permitting of a 1,900-acre project. Surrounded by the Belle Meade-Royal Hammock slough that collected a regional flow-way system into the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Preserve, this development included all aspects of water management and started with a major off-site analysis of the contributing watershed. A combination of HEC-RAS and the Inner Connected Pond Routing Model— as well as accentuated peak flows to not impact floodplain storage — created a cohesive development with ecological enhancements, water quality improvements to sensitive ecosystems and flood protection.
