PROJECT MANAGER – FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT and STORMWATER DESIGN 

​

The Floodplain Management and Stormwater Design division of JR Evans Engineering, P.A. is actively seeking a creative, highly motivated Engineer for immediate employment. This position will support hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain analysis, stormwater design, permitting coordination, and technical report preparation for a variety of public and private sector projects. The Engineer will work closely with other project managers, GIS specialists, CAD designers, and other technical staff to deliver high-quality analyses, design documents, and permitting support. The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience, sound judgment, and the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, agencies, and internal team members. 

 

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Review 

• Manage budget, project scope, and work orders 

• Complete monthly billings 

• Manage sub-consultant invoicing 

 

Project Analysis, Design and Permitting 

• Overall project design, redlines, and review 

• Submittal preparation and permitting coordination 

• Construction services (if needed) 

• Coordinate project design and submittal items with outside team members and clients 

• Establish effective communication with all team members and clients 

• Support staff with questions on specific task items 

 

Project Management 

• Complete and maintain project management plan 

• Create and manage project schedules and deadlines 

• Delegate tasks to support staff and provide guidance as needed 

• Meet, discuss, and review task expectations with staff 

 

Client Development 

• Ability to effectively coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies 

 

Position Expectations:

• Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and floodplain analysis workflows 

• Experience with GIS software, including ArcGIS, for mapping and technical support tasks 

• Ability to effectively coordinate with clients, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies 

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work products 

• Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and work effectively within project schedules 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel 

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 

• Ability to support quality management efforts for the design team, including reviewing work products for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project requirements and company standards 

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in floodplain analysis, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and stormwater-related engineering. Experience with StormWise (aka ICPR), HEC-RAS, and SWMM is preferred
